Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 24 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Pantry mobile application and related services ("Pantry", the "App", "we", "us", "our"). Please read them carefully. By downloading, creating an account on, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who we are
Pantry is provided by Nadiur Rahman trading as "Pantry", of Studio 124 – Great Western Studios, 65 Alfred Road, London W2 5EU. You can contact us at support@pantryapp.uk.
2. Agreement to these Terms
By creating an account or otherwise using the App you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. We may ask you to confirm your acceptance before you create an account or make a purchase.
3. Eligibility and age
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you may only use the App with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, and you must be 18 or over (or have your parent or guardian's permission and payment authority) to purchase a Pantry+ subscription.
4. Your account and signing in
4.1 Pantry is passwordless. You sign in by requesting a one-time code, which we send to your email address or mobile number. Your email address and mobile number are simply two ways of accessing the same account. 4.2 You are responsible for keeping access to your email inbox and phone number secure, and for all activity that takes place under your account. Do not share your one-time codes with anyone. 4.3 For your security, we limit how often codes can be requested and how many incorrect codes can be entered before sign-in is temporarily paused. These limits protect your account and reset automatically. 4.4 Your signed-in devices. The App shows you every device currently signed in to your account, and lets you sign any of them out remotely. To do this we record basic device information each time you sign in — device model and make, operating-system version, app version, and a random identifier generated by the App (not a permanent hardware ID). See section 3.2 of our Privacy Policy. 4.5 Changing your email address. You can change the email address on your account from within the App, after confirming a one-time code sent to the new address. When you do, the data held under your old address moves with you. Security records showing which address a past sign-in actually used are deliberately left as they were. 4.6 Tell us promptly at support@pantryapp.uk if you think someone has accessed your account without permission.
5. Licence to use the App
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the app store's terms. You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except as permitted by law.
6. Acceptable use and misuse
6.1 You agree not to: (a) use the App for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose; (b) upload or share content that is unlawful, infringing, offensive, or that you do not have the right to share; (c) misuse shared or Team List features, or add other people's data without their permission; (d) attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App, other users' accounts, or our systems, including by making repeated or automated sign-in attempts, or by sharing or attempting to obtain another person's one-time codes; (e) interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable or automated load on the App or its infrastructure; (f) use bots, scripts, scrapers, or other automated means to access the App, or attempt to circumvent, disable, or exceed any usage limit, rate limit, feature limit, or other technical restriction we apply; or (g) use the App to build or train a competing product or service. 6.2 Monitoring and fair use. To protect the App, our users, and our systems, we monitor for misuse and apply automated protections. These include the free-plan allowances set out in section 8.2, per-account and overall ceilings on how much AI-assisted processing can be run, and temporary pauses on sign-in after repeated incorrect one-time codes. Normal personal use will not be affected by these protections. 6.3 Consequences of misuse. If you breach this section or otherwise misuse the App, we may take action that is proportionate to the misuse. This may include temporarily limiting or pausing features, temporarily locking sign-in, or — for serious, repeated, or deliberate misuse — suspending or permanently closing your account. Where it is appropriate and practical to do so we will let you know, but we may act immediately where necessary to protect the App, other users, or our systems. Suspension or closure for misuse does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees, except where UK law requires one.
7. Your content
7.1 You keep ownership of the information you put into Pantry — including shopping lists, saved meals, scanned receipts, spend data, and loyalty card details ("Your Content"). 7.2 You grant us a licence to store, copy, process, and transmit Your Content only as needed to operate and provide the App to you (for example, to sync your data across your devices and provide the features you use). 7.3 Team Lists. If you create or join a Team List, the items and information you add are visible to everyone who has the list's join code. You are responsible for who you share a join code with and for what you add to shared lists. 7.4 You are responsible for the accuracy of Your Content and for keeping your own copies of anything important to you.
8. Pantry+ subscription and payments
8.1 Pantry is free to use. Pantry+ is our optional paid subscription, which removes the free-plan allowances on the five features that cost us money each time they run.
8.2 What is free, and what Pantry+ adds. On the free plan you get the following every rolling 7 days, counted per account:
| Feature | Free plan | With Pantry+ |
|---|---|---|
| Meal plans | 3 every 7 days | Unlimited |
| Scale-ups (portion scaling and prep-ahead) | 3 every 7 days | Unlimited |
| Receipt scans | 2 every 7 days | Unlimited |
| List scans (photographing a handwritten list) | 2 every 7 days | Unlimited |
| Store searches (finding shops near you) | 2 every 7 days | Unlimited |
Everything else — your shopping lists, shared Team Lists and live syncing, spend tracking and trends, price history, basket price comparison, loyalty cards, the recipe library, allergen and nutrition information, saved meals and reminders — is free for everyone, with no limits. Your allowance refreshes on a rolling 7-day window and the App shows how many you have left and when they return.
8.3 Price and billing. Pantry+ costs £3.99 per month, or £39.99 per year if you choose the annual plan, following any free trial. It is an auto-renewing subscription: unless cancelled, it renews automatically at the end of each billing period and the fee is charged for the next period. 8.4 Free trial. Pantry+ starts with a 28-day free trial. The free trial is available once per account — if you have already used a Pantry+ free trial, any new subscription on that account starts as a paid subscription immediately. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the trial automatically converts to a paid subscription on the plan you chose and you will be charged the then-current price. 8.5 Payment is processed by Google Play. You purchase and pay for Pantry+ through the Google Play Store, and payment is taken and managed by Google under Google Play's own terms — not by us directly. Your Play Store payment method will be charged for each renewal. 8.6 Price changes. We may change the subscription price. We will give you reasonable advance notice, and any change will apply from your next billing period. If you don't accept a price change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
9. Cancelling, renewals and refunds
9.1 How to cancel. Because Pantry+ is billed through Google Play, you manage or cancel it there: open the Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → Pantry → Cancel subscription. Uninstalling the App does not cancel your subscription. 9.2 What happens when you cancel. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access to Pantry+ until the end of the period you've already paid for; after that your account reverts to the free version. 9.3 Refunds. Refunds for purchases made through Google Play are generally handled by Google under its refund policies. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including any cancellation or cooling-off rights that apply.
10. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services, including the Google Play Store (payments), Google Places (finding shops near you), Brevo (delivering your one-time sign-in codes by email and SMS), Google Cloud Vision (reading receipt images and checking uploaded images), and the AI providers named in section 11. These services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for their acts, omissions, or outages. Your use of the Google Play Store is subject to Google’s terms. Our Privacy Policy sets out what each provider receives.
11. AI features and informational content — important
11.1 Pantry uses automated and AI-assisted features, including categorising your items, ranking or suggesting stores, suggesting recipes and meals, summarising your spending, and reading the text on receipts you scan. It also displays recipe, ingredient, allergen, and nutritional information. These features are provided using Anthropic (Claude), Voyage AI and Google Cloud Vision; our Privacy Policy explains what each receives. 11.2 This information is generated automatically and provided for general guidance only. It may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate, and results may vary. 11.3 It is not professional, medical, dietary, or allergen advice, and must not be relied on as such. If you have a food allergy, intolerance, medical condition, or specific dietary requirement, you must check ingredients, packaging, and labelling yourself and seek professional advice where appropriate. We are not liable for decisions you make based on AI-generated or informational content, to the extent permitted by law.
12. Retailers, brands and loyalty programmes
12.1 Pantry is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any supermarket, retailer, or brand referred to in the App. 12.2 Retailer and brand names, logos, and loyalty programmes are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only. 12.3 We do not guarantee that any store stocks a particular item, that prices or store details are accurate or current, or that a stored loyalty card will be accepted or scan correctly at any retailer.
13. Availability and changes to the App
We work to keep the App available and working well, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, and may release updates you need to install to keep using the App. The App is provided "as is" and "as available", except for the guarantees we cannot exclude under UK consumer law.
14. Intellectual property
The App, its design, branding ("Pantry"), text, graphics, and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the licence in section 5, nothing in these Terms transfers any of our intellectual-property rights to you.
15. Our liability
15.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law (including your statutory rights as a consumer). 15.2 Subject to 15.1, we are not liable for losses that are not reasonably foreseeable, for business losses (the App is for personal use), or for loss or corruption of data caused by matters outside our reasonable control. 15.3 Subject to 15.1, and to the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the App is limited to the greater of £100 or the total amount you paid us for Pantry+ in the 12 months before the claim.
16. Suspension and termination
16.1 You can stop using the App at any time, and can ask us to delete your account (see section 20). 16.2 We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, misuse the App, or fail to pay for a subscription, or if we reasonably need to for legal or security reasons. Where practical and appropriate we will give you notice. 16.3 If your account ends, your licence to use the App ends. Any Pantry+ time already paid for is handled as described in section 9.
17. Data protection and privacy
We process personal data in line with our Privacy Policy (available at pantryapp.uk/privacy.html), which explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR. By using the App you acknowledge our Privacy Policy. These Terms and the Privacy Policy should be read together.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know (for example, in the App or by email). Changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of the App means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the App.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales or the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
20. Contact and complaints
Questions, complaints, or requests (including account deletion) can be sent to us at support@pantryapp.uk. To delete your account, contact us and we will action it for you, normally within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.
